Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023 South Dakota Co-op Hall of Fame. 

Induction into the Co-op Hall of Fame is one of the highest honors bestowed on those who have worked to enhance the cooperative idea, its broader acceptance, or the substantial advancement of cooperatives in South Dakota.

If you know a cooperative member, board member, or employee who has provided outstanding contributions to the cooperative community in South Dakota, we encourage you to nominate that person for the Co-op Hall of Fame.

 

 

NOMINATION FORM

We invite organizations or individuals to submit nominations for the SD Cooperative Hall of Fame. This recognition is for those who have worked to enhance the cooperative idea, its broader acceptance, or the substantial advancement of cooperatives in our state. Induction into the SD Cooperative Hall of Fame is the highest honor that the cooperative community bestows on those who have made especially significant contributions to the cause of the cooperative form of enterprise. 

The information provided should contain as much background and detail as possible but please do not exceed three pages typed, excluding this form and the letter(s) of endorsement, with single spacing within paragraphs, double spacing between paragraphs, and bold-face headings for various criteria. All nominations must be signed.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Selection Committee will consider the following criteria.  Please provide detailed information on the major contributions and activities of the nominee relating to these criteria as well as the individual’s commitment and contributions to his/her community.

  1. (25 points)  Demonstrated exceptional statesmanship, innovation, personal commitment, leadership and vision within the cooperative sector.  
  2. (15 points)  Achieved identifiable and lasting changes to improve and promote cooperatives. Inspired and persuaded others to act to advance the cooperative system.  
  3. (15 points)  Exhibited commitment to the cooperative community through years of service, membership and offices held.
  4. (15 points)  Demonstrated commitment and contributions to his/her community.
LETTERS OF ENDORSEMENT
Please attach not more than three letters of endorsement that relate to one or more of the selection criteria.

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS

Nomination and letters of endorsement must be received at the office of the SD Cooperative Hall of Fame Committee no later than June 3, 2024.  Nominations and letters received after the deadline will not be considered this year but will be considered the following year.

    RECOGNITION

    Inductees selected for inclusion in the SD Cooperative Hall of Fame will be recognized at the 2024 Co-op Hall of Fame Banquet to be held August 5, 2024, in Sioux Falls, SD
