Welcome to new SDAC board members Jeff Dragseth from CBH Cooperative in Sturgis, and Jason Stark with Tabor Lumber Coop in Tabor.  Both men were elected by their district caucus members at our annual meeting on September 13.

Thanks to retiring Board members Milt Handcock from Pierre and Dean Koch from Salem.  Their leadership for our organization has been outstanding.

We are now getting geared up for the 2017 Legislative Session, which starts January 10.  We will be highlighting upcoming issues in our electronic newsletter.  If you are not receiving our newsletter and would like to do so, please send us an email and we will add you to the list.

The South Dakota Association of Cooperatives is a statewide organization that works on behalf of all types of cooperatives - farm supply and marketing, electric, and communications.  Economic studies indicate that the 160 marketing, energy, communication, banking, and processing cooperatives in South Dakota contribute $7-$10 billion in annual output to the state's economy.

SDAC provides effective representation on government affairs issues that affect our members.  We focus on legislative, administrative, and regulatory issues at the state and national levels.  We serve as a link among cooperatives, state agencies, legislators, congressional staff, farm organizations, commodity groups, and non-agricultural organizations.  We also provide educational and leadership training opportunities for cooperative staff and board members.
